The 'Reef' Ring
The 'Reef' ring made bespoke for you on the Isle of Arran by Jess MacDonald Brass
The 'Reef' ring is made by melting and shaping wax, then using a method called 'lost wax casting'. The process and technique I use for the style of ring, reminds me of the 'Bubble Coral' and Maerl that we have on the seab bed around Arran, and hence it's name 'Reef'. This bubble effect can be added all the way around the ring by request.
A natural reef is a ridge in the sea, usually made up of either rock or coral, sitting not far from the surface. Coral reefs are extraordinary, providing habitats for around 25% of marine species habitats, while also giving protection and allowing for safe breeding grounds for these species.
The price on this listing is for a handmade, one of a kind silver ring. If you would like to know more, it's best to email me and we can talk it through. Each will look slightly different as made individually for each customer, with roughly an 8 week turnaround. Please email me before purchase with your finger size and any specific requirements, like width of ring or if you would like a price in gold or platinum. Thankyou.
My jewellery is individually hand-crafted or made in small batch production which is hand-finished - this is reflected in the final finish of each piece. This means that it will not be the same as machine made or mass-produced jewellery. Instead, it gives each of my designs a special artisanal touch.
