Humpback Whale Necklace

£75

A Humpback Whale silver pendant necklace made on the Isle of Arran.

The humpback whale, known as a rorqual and the largest of the baleen whale species - has grooves running from tip of the lower jaw to the navel. Adults range in length from 14–17m and they have proportionally long flippers, around one-third of its body length.

Humpbacks are extremely active creatures at the surface, performing enchanting aerial antics such as breaching & slapping.
Male humpback whales produce intrictate songs during breeding season, singing up to roughly 30 minutes. Once a song was believed to last 7 hours! 🤩

In cultures round the world, the majestic humpback whale symbolizes many things-peace, compassion, love, endurance but also in the art of song, poetry and music.

There's no wonder, us mere humans are captivated and bewitched by these enigmatic creatures, they carry an ancient wisdom, reminding us of the basics in nature and the raw beauty of this planet.
