The 'Staffa' Ring

£250

The 'Staffa' ring, bespoke made for you on the Isle of Arran by Jess MacDonald Brass

The Isle of Staffa is a geological marvel, famous for its hexagonal basalt columns formed by ancient volcanic activity over 60 million years ago.
It's star attraction is Fingal’s Cave- a 69 metre long cavern. The caves wondrous acoustics are entrancing, capturing a symphony of natures raw energy and power. The echoes of the waves crashing against the ancient basalt pillars even inspired Mendelssohn to create 'Hebrides Overture3'.

The 'Staffa' ring is created by melting, shaping and carving wax, then using a method called 'lost wax casting'. I use this process and technique, as I find it's reminiscent of basalt rock as seen on the Isle of Staffa, hence it's name.

The price on this listing is for a handmade, one of a kind silver ring. If you would like to know more, it's best to email me and we can talk it through. Each will look slightly different as made individually for each customer, with roughly an 8 week turnaround.  Please email me before purchase with your finger size and any specific requirements, like width of ring or if you would like a price in gold or platinum. Thankyou.

My jewellery is individually hand-crafted or made in small batch production which is hand-finished - this is reflected in the final finish of each piece. This means that it will not be the same as machine made or mass-produced jewellery. Instead, it gives each of my designs a special artisanal touch.
