Fondly known as ‘The Ben' to hikers and mountaineers, Ben Nevis is the tallest mountain in Scotland and the British
Isles. It was a massive active volcano which exploded and collapsed in on itself, millions of years ago. The 700m North face cliffs are some of the highest cliffs in Scotland. 
Gaelic for Ben Nevis is Beinn Nibheis. ‘Beinn’ meaning mountain. ‘Nibheis' meaning vicious or malicious. Elevation - 1345m.
