The 'Uprush/Tiree' ring, bespoke made on the Isle of Arran by Jess MacDonald Brass

'Uprush' is the onshore flow of the sea - the final reach of a wave as it runs up the sand, pauses, and then gently lets go - and is the original inspiration of this style of ring. This particular ring has taken that style and captured the land that frames the beaches on Tiree, including those sandy bays its famous for.

I work directly in wax, melting, shaping, and carving by hand before casting the piece using traditional lost-wax casting. The surface holds the movement of that uprush - not a wave frozen in drama, but the gentler ending of it.

Uprush sits within the Odyssey Rings collection - rings made to mark life moments: vows, commitments, personal thresholds, or little promises made to yourself. Pieces chosen not for trend, but for meaning.

My jewellery is individually hand-crafted or made in small batch production which is hand-finished - this is reflected in the final finish of each piece. This means that it will not be the same as machine made or mass-produced jewellery. Instead, it gives each of my designs a special artisanal touch.
