Sea Urchin Necklace
Sterling Silver Sea Urchin Pendant made on the Isle of Arran.
This pendant has the texture from part of a Sea Urchin shell that I found washed ashore.
Sea urchins in UK waters, like the edible and shore sea urchins, help maintain marine ecosystems by grazing on algae. Their spiny shells offer protection, while tiny tube feet help them move and cling to rocky reefs. They are an important food source for predators like starfish and crabs, keeping the underwater food chain in balance.
Sea urchins symbolize resilience, protection, and hidden beauty—tough on the outside, yet intricate within. Wearing one as a necklace can signify strength through adversity, a guarded heart, or a deep connection to the mysteries of the ocean. It’s a quiet reminder that even the most unassuming creatures hold profound wisdom beneath their spines.
As the tide retreats, the sea leaves us her ocean treasures on the shore

My jewellery is individually hand-crafted or made in small batch production and hand-finished - this is reflected in the final finish of each piece. This means that it will not be the same as machine made or mass-produced jewellery. Instead, it gives each of my designs a special artisanal touch.
